UAE Commemoration Day

UAE commemoration day has been celebrated on November 30th of every year. It was declared by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, as Martyrs’ Day which is a national holiday to remember the sacrifice of people who lost their lives for UAE in civil services. Every year UAE pays homage and tribute to the real heroes of this Nation. The history behind this day is Salem Suhail Khamis who was the first Emirati martyr passed away on 30th November 1971 while fighting against Iranian forces in the “battle of the Greater Tunb” .
